The roundtable was graced by the presence of Ms. Ratna Juwita, Member of the Indonesian Parliament’s Commission XII on Energy, Mineral Resources, Environment, and Investment, and Mr. Togu Pardede, Director of Energy, Mineral, and Mining at Bappenas (Indonesia’s National Development Planning Agency). Their active participation signaled a strong commitment from both legislative and executive bodies toward inclusive and responsive climate action.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Rwitwika Bhattacharya, CEO of Swaniti Global, highlighted the organization’s commitment to supporting government agencies in translating policy into impact. She emphasized Swaniti’s role in providing governance tools, fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration, and facilitating engagement between public institutions and private sector actors to drive systemic change on the ground.

One of the key takeaways from the discussion was the “Three lateral Approach”,  a model that calls for regular and structured dialogue between government, parliament, and civil society organizations (CSOs). This approach is seen as vital to ensuring that public funds dedicated to climate and energy goals are deployed effectively, with communities and workers, especially those most affected by the energy transition, at the center of planning and benefit.

The dialogue also featured a meaningful exchange between Ms. Uma Bhattacharya of Swaniti and Ms. Ratna Juwita, who shared perspectives on strengthening civil society–parliament engagement across the Global South, especially in tackling shared challenges such as air and water pollution.

This roundtable marks an important step in deepening partnerships across governance levels and sectors, reaffirming a shared commitment to ensuring that climate finance not only flows, but delivers impact where it’s needed most.
