Indonesian parliamentarians, environmental health experts, and development practitioners came together to examine lead pollution and clean air as interconnected public health, environmental, and governance challenges. Drawing on scientific evidence and regional experiences, the discussion highlighted the widespread sources and long-term impacts of lead exposure, particularly on children’s health and development.
The dialogues at this roundtable explored how Parliament can strengthen oversight, improve coordination across government, strengthen monitoring and surveillance, and support more effective policy responses. By connecting local experiences with a broader national perspective, the roundtable helped lay the foundation for stronger parliamentary engagement and coordinated action on lead pollution and clean air in Indonesia.
