Industry and Critical Minerals Decarbonization: NYCW
About This Event
The decarbonization pathways of hard to abate industrial sectors and that of critical minerals (or transition minerals), are not only essential pieces of the overall climate mitigation agenda, but are also inextricably linked. Each are reliant, and influence the other on essential drivers tied to upstream and downstream supply chains, human capital implications, the manufacturing of essential goods, and transboundary trade implications, that are all essential for national economies.
From an emissions perspective both are key emitting sectors, as well as essential in the goal of electrification and mitigation pathways (i.e. as necessary components in the manufacture of clean energy components). However technological, financial and political challenges exist to adopt meaningful decarbonization solutions in both these sectors, that to date, have yet to receive the necessary attention when compared to other sectors.
In India and Indonesia, both governments are exploring new and innovative partnerships that seek to address some of these challenges. Join us for an informal evening of conversation and networking with government officials, partners and funders, as we launch several new initiatives in both these areas, and seek to facilitate connections and build new partnerships to address the challenges of both these critical sectors.
