Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS)
India is home to almost 19% of the world’s children. It is estimated that around 170 million children in India are vulnerable to or experiencing difficult circumstances, out of which 11 million live on the streets in India and are exposed to health hazards, harassment and exploitation. Integrated Child Protection Scheme is based on the principles of ‘protection of child rights’ and ‘best interests of the child’ and aims to institutionalize services for emergency outreach, family and community based care, counseling and support. It is based on the model of government-civil society partnership to ensure child protection and create a safe and healthy environment for the children of India.
